Knock – From Vision to Reality
How TAP helped producer Decap transform his idea into a flagship plugin
"The Audio Programmer took my vision for a plugin and helped bring it into reality. My favorite part about working with TAP was that I always felt like the sky's the limit. If I can think it, they can help bring it to life."

The Challenge: Turning Vision into Impact
Decap came to us with a clear idea: a plugin that delivers punch, presence and vibe – something that producers could fire up and get tracks knock-ready without getting lost in knobs. The goal was ambitious: build a tool that’s powerful, intuitive, and true to the Knock brand – one that honours Decap’s creative vision and works seamlessly across platforms and workflows.
Crafting the Sound
We began with the DSP engine, dialing in the tone-shaping algorithms until Knock had the exact punch and energy Decap imagined. Every feature was tested and refined with real-world producer workflows in mind.

Designing the Experience
Once the sound was right, we turned to the UI design. Working closely with Decap, we built an interface that was clean, intuitive, and visually distinct – a plugin that looks as good as it sounds.

Expanding the Vision
Knock’s success inspired a standalone Clipper plugin, followed by iOS versions of both tools, making the sound accessible to producers anywhere – from the studio to mobile.
